HOW TO RELAX


Yesterday I spent amazing day with my husband on the mountain, and when we got home I realized how much is important to have a day like this. It is important to know how to relax, it doesn`t mean that you have to take a weekend on the mountain or in spa. It is important to get to know your body and to find the things that will relax you on daily bases. It could be a good book, or cup of tea, or hot bath, or doing some sports, good movie, anything that is working for you.

You may enjoy the work you do. Or some parts of it, at least. I have to admit that I am fortunate that I found the work I love to do. But even if the most of my “working day” is filled with things I enjoy doing, it`s still necessary to take some time off to relax. To turn off. And do something different.

In this post I will like to share with you my tips and techniques how to relax, because I found it very important for you mental and physical health. I am sure that you all can see the difference when you under the stress and when you relaxed. When you are relaxed you are in better mood, feeling more productive, more positive, more energized, right? So why not to have every day like that?

  • First you have to be present, that`s the best advice that I can give you. Not to look too far or too back. Just be present cause that`s all you have. When I found myself thinking too much about the future and what can all happen, I just see how my body starts to feel stressed and how I get these negative thoughts. Then I try my best to focus on present and that helps a lot.
  • Usually when I have some stressful situation I try to calm myself first with “nostril breathing”. I am sure that all of you who does yoga knows it, but for those who doesn`t know, this is how you can do it. Hold the right thumb over the right nostril and inhale deeply through the left nostril. At the peak of inhalation, close off the left nostril with the ring finger, then exhale through the right nostril. Continue the pattern, inhaling through the right nostril, closing it off with the right thumb and exhaling through the left nostril. Keep doing this till you don`t relax.
  • Hot bath. This maybe strange to some of you, but hot water relaxes me. I have read that cold shower is something that can relax you especially when you under a lots of stress, but in my case it`s opposite.
  • Tea.That`s something that always help me and that`s my daily relaxing ritual. I always have chamomile tea before I go to bed. Sometime when I feel a little bit restless I also like to have cup of this tea. I am sure that you have read a lots of studies how chamomile tea can be beneficial for insomnia and relaxant.
