Supplements has been part of my diet for a 4 years now. I haven`t took always the same, but for almost 3 years I have been taking multivitamins. This is complex of all the vitamins that you need on daily bases. I was satisfy with them. I was taking them just to keep my immune system healthy and strong since my diet was poor at that time. I start living with Luka and before that I haven`t cook any meal properly, I was on my mum`s kitchen. I began step by step to learn to cook, I was asking my mum for the recipes, and internet was also a very good source. It became so interesting for me that I started really enjoying cooking and reading about food benefits. I knew that I wanted to change my diet a little bit, but I couldn`t figure out what I was missing. I began to listen my body to see how I feel after eating certain food or taking certain vitamins, but it was hard at the beginning since my knowledge about the food and wellness was very poor. It is so hard to do it on your own and with internet.

I definitely advice you to look for a good nutritionist, or better if you can holistic doctor who will help you with your diet and supplements. I prefer holistic approach to heath. Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and emotions. You can`t separate these things in the quest for optimal health and wellness. According to the holistic medicine philosophy, one can achieve optimal health — the primary goal of holistic medicine practice — by gaining proper balance in life. And you now me, I am always about balance 🙂

Currently I am taking 3 supplements. I started with spirulina and oil of evening primrose 3 months ago. The reason why I wanted to go to naturopathic doctor was because I wanted to have more energy and to stop my mood swings. They become unbearable lately for me and I decide that this year I want to end with them. I knew deep inside that my diet takes a big part in that. That`s why I wanted to go to holist doctor. I read so much about holistic medicine before, and there is a lot of studies now on internet and lots of research that can confirm that all begins and ends with good diet. So she decide to give me these 2 supplements and she slightly started to change my eating habits.

I will tell you in this post a little bit about the both supplements and how they helped me.



This one is the most famous one, right? It has very strong smell and it doesn`t taste pleasant, but the benefits are amazing. Spirulina contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. It also has essential amino acids (compounds that are the building blocks of proteins). In fact, protein makes up about 60 to 70 percent of Spirulina. Detoxes Heavy Metals (especially Arsenic). Since spirulina contains high levels of iron, and iron intake leads to production of hemoglobin, which binds to red blood cells and promotes the circulation of oxygen. Lack of hemoglobin requires the heart to work much harder in order to circulate oxygenated blood, which can lead to exhaustion. Not only does spirulina provide an energizing boost to blood iron levels, but it also does so without constipation – a typical side effect of taking synthetic iron supplements. My problem wasn`t lack of hemoglobin, but iron rich content of spirulina is not just for those with a deficiency. Spirulina can help to increase athletic performance, as adequate iron intake maximizes the use of oxygen throughout the human body = more energy.

Oli of evening primrose

Essential fatty acids are necessary for human health, but the body can’t make them—you have to get them through food. Along with omega-3 fatty acids, omega-6 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function, as well as normal growth and development.

Your body needs a healthy balance of essential fatty acids, such as the omega-6, found in evening primrose. I stared to take oil of evening primrose to balance my hormones. Consuming essential fatty acids help you in balancing hormones. It helped me a lot, but you need to be patient, 3 months. Body needs time to get in balance, nothing happens overnight. I`ve also notice improvements on my hair and skin.


Boldo complex

Since I began with spring cleaning of my body, Boldo complex is something that I`m taking twice a day. I stared month ago, and I have one more month. This is a complex of few herbs and it taste very bitter. You know how they say the bitter is the better is for the liver 🙂 .

I have to add, that what you eat is the most important, you can`t change supplements for the food. They are just supplements. Balanced diet with certain supplements is the best choice.
