Preparing porridge could became a boring routine. You put one cup of oats with one cup of plant based milk, let it simmer for 5 minutes, top it with some fresh berries and you made yourself a breakfast. Trust me, porridge could me so much more! At some point a realized that I stopped eating porridge because I got bored of same taste always, and then I become little creative and I come up with this type of porridge. I also have this recipe that is good as well PORRIDGE OATS WITH THE TWIST, but at the moment a like this one better, it`s more autumny. Here is the recipe

For 2 persons (or one very hungry) you will need

Ingredients for the porridge

1 cup of oats

1 ½ cup of plant based milk (I like to use almond milk or coconut milk for this recipe)

1 banana (peel the banana and slice her)

2 tbs. of almond butter

1 tbs. of maca powder

1 tbs. grounded flax seeds

For the topping you can put anything you like. I like to put fresh berries and cacao nibs. If you like you can put nuts, coconut flakes or any other fresh fruit that you like.

First take non-stick saucepan. Put the oats and milk. Bring to a simmer and let it cook on medium heat till you don`t get nice smooth consistency, then add sliced banana and almond butter. Turn of the heat and let it 1 minute more and give it a good stir. When you remove saucepan from the heat add maca powder (good for the energy boost) and ground flax seeds. Give it a good stir again and your breakfast is almost ready. Now you can put toppings, for this one I was using fresh berries and cacao nib. And that`s it, you breakfast is ready.

You need 5 minutes to prepare this and it`s such a nice alternative for heathier breakfast and it will keep you full till lunch time.
